01. Entrepreneurship Training

Our research-based curriculum covers topics such as financial and digital literacy, marketing, goal setting, and much more. Each program is developed through local needs assessments and delivered in culturally and linguistically appropriate formats.

02. Micro/Nano loans & Mentorship

We provide pathways that enable access to micro/nano loans, grants, peer support, tailored guidance, and cooperative financing to women, youth, and grassroots entrepreneurs to launch and grow businesses.

03. Cross-Cutting Supports

We provide culturally relevant cross-cutting supports such as childcare, mental wellness, and other essential services, because our holistic approach recognizes that entrepreneurs cannot focus on business growth while struggling with basic needs.

In Mallam Atta Market in Ghana, a group of small-scale women entrepreneurs received microloans and some entrepreneurial training from MESENow. Some wanted to sell foodstuffs, but they did not have all the capital needed to do so. It was difficult for others to afford school fees for their children. But a microloan from MESENow allowed them to start or improve their existing business, and in turn, the ability to send their kids to school.

In Nigeria, MESENow launched an innovative program combining career mentoring to support low-income youth in accessing and completing college education. Eligible students received microgrants to cover tuition, essential living expenses, alongside entrepreneurial training. One of the participants is a first-generation college student who will graduate soon as a social worker and is employed part-time at a local University to support herself while she is in school. This shows that education and access to microgrants combined with entrepreneurial training can be a sustainable way out of poverty for youth in underserved economies.
